Enjoy the Little Things ! Macaron Digital Illustration | Digital Illustration using Procreate

Now, it has become a habit ! I am procrastinating too much on a single drawing like this cute little macrons. Initially I though since I am learning new I am taking time. But honestly that is not true. I am drawing on alternate days. Other days I have no time, don't  feel like or not in mood. All sort of yardley yardley yadda. Whenever I am actually drawing I am doing too much detailing or taking extra time. It is all the Artist Drama. Need to learn to overcome this. Honestly, the only thing matters is atleast 30 minutes drawing daily. And then I am free to do whatever I want. I must learn to complete small things. Small wins like this cute little macron are very important rather aiming to achieve big during such times. That is leading to procrastination. Now this is my own illustration. I learn a load when I do my own things than following any tutorials. Little things ! Small things and little wins that's the biggest lesson. I hope you like theses little ...

I love every layer of you - Rainbow Cake ! Rainbow Cake Digital Illustration | Digital Illustration using Procreate

Finally I decided to call this yummy rainbow cake illustration done. I learnt a new lesson while doing this. Firstly I loved the final output. But the part I was over working was the texture on the cake. Somehow it was not looking the way I want. Just to make it perfect, I was spending hours and days. My daughter told me it was looking good now start a new one. But I just want to make it look perfect and mean while she completed four other illustrations. Now if you are not aware me and my daughter Kavya (9 years ) together started learning digital illustration few months back. And I decided to record my process while doing it. She is my best companion in this journey and gives me timely valuable advices. If you want to check her drawings it is here  https://kavyamulay.blogspot.com/ Now back to topic. I was spending way too much time on detailing while I could I done few more illustrations. Don't get me wrong. Detailing is good. After all it is learning of own its ki...

First Realistic Illustration | Banana Digital Illustration | Digital Illustration using Procreate

Sometimes few illustration are simple but they are special. Same is for this banana. This is the very first realistic illustration which I did completely by myself. Yes , I know easy to draw but it is the first one.It was a proud moment. I gave a pat on my back. This is important milestone in my digital drawing journey. In theses quarantine days there are very few opportunities to celebrate. So these kind of small wins are definitely the best candidates.   I know these are difficult times but try to be happy and do what you love most. Have a great day !

Jack o Lantern Trick or Treat | Pumpkin illustration using Procreate | | Digital Illustration using Procreate

It is not halloween. But this pumpkin has a lot going on. The one thing I loved is the texture on the body of the pumpkin. And most importantly the glowing light which is coming out of the pumpkin. Also I loved the shades of orange. Now honestly I procrastinated a lot on this one for no particular reason. But finally it turned out well. Hope you will you it too !

Sand Dunes | Digital Illustration using Procreate

I experimented a lot with this one. I learned a lot about "Select" tool  and making the sharp edges using selection in procreate. It was super fast one, completed in less than 20 minutes. Had a lots of fun and loved the final illustration . Hope you will love it too.

I am a little Teapot ! Teapot Illustration using Procreate | | Digital Illustration using Procreate

This is the most difficult illustration I had drawn till date. It is a very nice play of light and shadows, a load of learning. The reflective light on the teapot body was the most challenging part, I was doing such thing first time. The shadows on the lid , the handle and the tout were also challenging too. It took me a long time to complete this illustration. It was an amazing learning experience. I loved the final illustration. Hope you will love it too. I followed the Patreon tutorial by art with flo.

'Face a Palm' Tree ! Tree illustration using procreate

Again it happened ! I was not in mood to draw anything. And that always make me choose a simple illustration which ends up with a disaster. If you want to read about my pervious experience it is here : https://www.sheetalmulay.com/2020/05/seeking-for-some-help-waterfall.html My daughter, Kavya told what can be easier than drawing a Tree. Just draw a tree. It will be useful in larger illustration . She was right. BTW, if you are not aware yet, me and my daughter Kavya (9 years) together are learning to draw digital illustrations and recording our progress. If you wish to check her blog it is here  https://kavyamulay.blogspot.com/ So back to story. My daughter was right what could be better than a tree? But as from the above illustration you guessed it right, I messed that up too. I was annoyed and fussy while drawing it. I just don't want to complete it. The process of drawing and the outcome both were horrible. It was a real  'Face a Palm'  tree moment...

A-Peeling Fruit Banana | Banana Illustration using Procreate

This is my the favorite most illustration till date. It took a loads of time to complete this one. It look very easy but there are many details to focus when you draw one. First of all the texture on banana, the vertical lines and very thin horizontal line. The peel was the most difficult to draw. I worked on each peel at a time. The inside and outside of the peel both has very unique textures. It was a great study of shadows where the peels turn. Also the light on the banana and folded peels. The part I loved the most was giving that greenish ting to make it more realistic. Overall it was an amazing learning experience and I loved the final illustration too. 'A-Peeling' illustration, :-) I followed the Patreon illustration by art with flo. Now the next challenge would be drawing such illustration without any tutorials. Can I ? :-). I will try to break down the process in next illustration.

'PEACE' OF PIZZA ! Pizza Slice Illustration using Procreate

The one thing I missed the most during this lockdown time is 'A slice of pizza'. It's the comfort food. Ya, I know there is no such thing as comfort food exists. But seriously, when I am sad or in the mood to treat myself or just have treat or simply to enjoy , the one food I love the most is pizza. Yes, I tried making it at home. And it turned out yummy and healthy. But not like Domino's or any other restaurant. When I eat an Italian style cheesy slice of pizza, it feels completely like 'PEACE' OF PIZZA :-)  I hope you understand what I mean. I always eat a veggies pizza. No meat for me. But when it comes to illustration, A pizza is always a pepperoni pizza. The challenges here in this illustration were the melting cheese, the the red contrasting pepperoni, the greesy or oily highlights on it, the thicker crust , saucy edge and most importantly blending all together. And I did it, I loved how this illustration turned out. Hope you wi...

This too shall pass ! Look at the sunny side ! Sunny side up egg Illustration using Procreate

In this session I continued with food. Sunny side up egg simple right ? Trust me, it is easier to make it than drawing it :-) My biggest challenge was the white skinny part which has so much texture. It's somewhere thick , somewhere thin and crispy at the edges. It also has those small pores very small but are present. Then the yolk. It is shiny , well blended with white and that white highlight. It is too difficult. But yes I did it !!! It is among one of my favorite illustration. It took me maximum time to complete among my all illustration. But the drawing process and final outcome both are awesome. Come on now, you are allowed to say good things about your drawing. Because if you don't then nobody else will do it for you. Also it is the biggest motivation to draw better next time. Hope you will love this illustration too. I followed the Patreon illustration by art with flo. Today's lesson , This too shall pass ! Look at the sunny side !

Let's get silly with a chilli ! Chilli Pepper Illustration using Procreate

After donut this is my next food drawing. Foods are easier to draw. They come in all shapes and sizes. So little shape here and there is ok. Here in this illustration I was more focusing on highlights. Ya, I know I have done a little too much. But yes first time in my life I understood how light causes highlights.I am NOT kidding. Also I tried to experiment with texture. I tried to give a canvas look. Ya, I know that's again prominently visible. Working on it. But overall enjoyed drawing this chilli Pepper and loved the final illustration. Hope you will love it too. I followed tutorial by art with flo on Patreon,

Seeking for some help | Waterfall Illustration using Procreate

I took a long break. Honestly for no reason.  Life happened and it alway does but that can't be the excuse for not doing anything.  Confession time !!!  When things go wrong or let me correct the way I don't expect them happen then the very first thing I give up is my favourite activity or things that are good for me like drawing in this case. Recently drawing working like magic for me.  It’s meditative that what’s they say.  Well, I really never done a real meditation.  I tried closing eyes and focusing and all sort of guided or unguided ones but nothing worked. I guess I have a monkey mind. So I don’t know what meditative state means.  But the benefits they talk of meditation are similar that I experience after a good drawing session. But this illustration is definitely not among that one. When I take longer breaks, another thing which happen is I tend to resist more before starting a new drawing. So this time I decided to choose...

Whoooooooo who doesn’t love owls? Owl Illustration using Procreate

I love to doodle owls. Some cute little birds. But never dared to draw or sketch a real one. When I saw this the major challenge I thought was the eye. Of course never drawn feathers or fur yet. Donut - It's a Hole food !!! Donut Illustration using Procreate

This is my very first attempt to draw a realistic drawing. I was not comfortable, not at all. Understanding the shadows, highlights and the depths were the biggest challenges. This was difficult. I need a loads more practice in this area. But it turned out well. What do you think ? I followed the tutorial by art with flo (https://youtu.be/AWrsicREWvw)

Blow it with a Candle !!! Candle Illustration using Procreate

Early candles were made from beeswax. Typically, a wick of fibers was dipped into a vat of melted wax. The wax was allowed to cool, then dipped again; this was repeated until the candle reached the desired size. Later, candles were made from whale oil or petroleum derivatives. Today, most candles employ synthetic oils or plant oils. My sweet memories of candle are Birthday Candles. I love to blow them before anyone does that for me. Now a days candles come in different sizes, shapes , colours and fragrances. But when you say Candle the very first image comes in the mind is this old fashioned candle. That is what I decided to draw today.I had loads of fun making it. Hope you will love it. I followed the tutorial by Art with Flo (https://youtu.be/iINCXFDic88 ).

Evening Birds Illustration using Procreate

Whenever I am lost and don't feel like drawing, I quickly create colour pallet , choose or create some stamps And start drawing. Within no time beautiful scene appears on screen. I use to find these kind of drawing challenging until few days back but now I can draw them easily. "Practice makes a man perfect". Agreed totally. Now I am ready to take next level challenges like realistic drawing. Not 100% realism but yes that's going to be fun.

Snow Water Reflection Illustration using Procreate

I got very comfortable with stamp brushes and drawing a scene in a circle. But this kind of scene are always scary. After my Northern Light illustration (  https://www.sheetalmulay.com/2020/04/northern-lights-illustration-using.html  ) this was the most difficult one.But it was fun drawing. It turned out well. Hope you will like it too. The tutorial i followed was by art with flo (https://youtu.be/MT3f4kCeGoM)

Jellyfish Illustration using Procreate

Woohoo! Again shades of pink and purple with the magical glow. Now this combination is my favorite. It is a magical sea creature Jellyfish with umbrella-shaped bells and trailing tentacles. Here are few fun fact about Jellyfish : - Some jellyfish can glow in the dark like mine. - Some jellyfish are immortal - Jellyfish can clone themselves - Jellyfish don't have brains Aren't they awesome. Hope you will love my illustration. I followed the tutorial by art with flo (https://youtu.be/gF9vFKXELsg)

This is very quick illustration. I created my own set of pine tree brush set and blue colour pallet. And tested it in a circle. That's becoming my comfort zone now. I was happy with that glow coming from behind the pine trees. Hope you will love it too.

An Apple Illustration using Procreate : Shading and blending

I know this is very basic. But again I decided to practice shading and blending with different set of brushes. Not really happy with this apple but ya need more practice. This is a project done for a skillshare class.

Wolf silhouette Illustration using Procreate

I always loved the concept of drawing in a silhouette. I had done that before for Disney princess silhouettes. I had filled them with textures and patterns. But filling a silhouette with entire scene was great experience. I had loads of fun. Hope you will love it too. I followed the tutorial by art with flo (https://youtu.be/xnnkuPV5If4)
