3 Easy Steps To Set Your Goals And Make Them Happen!

Welcome to 2016! It’s here already!
New Year’s celebrations are over. We all are ready to get moving again in our businesses
It’s time to set the goals and make them happen.

Keeping up with goals is always challenging.
I know you agree.

Today I’ll be sharing three quick steps that will help you to follow through your goals.

Let’s get started

Step 1: Take One Bite at a Time
Have you ever heard “The only way to eat an elephant is to take one bite at a time”?
The moment you imagine the big picture of your business it’s all overwhelming.

You need to get that website designed, Set up & update Facebook business page, your Youtube channel, start writing blogs, send newsletters, conduct workshops, get new people in … the list is endless.

In addition to these activities you need to learn new technologies, attend workshops & classes, online courses, networking this & that…
And there is only you who need to work on it.

It’s all sounds nearly impossible & scary. It is worse than eating an elephant.
Here is the simple solution as said,” Take one bite at a time”

Take that goal, chop it up into little bite-sized achievable pieces, and then start with the first one, and leave the rest for later.
It will not only help you to achieve a lot but it will also help you to plan your daily activities.

Step 2 – Create Goal Supporting Habits
Habits are extremely important because when you get in a habit-mode, you’re not even consciously making decisions to do things anymore, you just do them.
Habits support you and your goals for major success.

I was planning to start blogging for a long time.

Every time when I was about to start there would be something important popping up.
I used to say,” This is so damn important, let me finish it. I will start writing my blog tomorrow”.
That tomorrow never came until I made this new habit.

I started publishing my blog/newsletter every Thursday.
And the day I made it as a habit, list of blogs got created in no time.

Step 3 – Find People to Hold You Accountable
Accountability is the top strategy that I’ve used to help me stay on track and knock out my goals.

Accountability comes in many forms, but primarily I’ve benefited from those who know what I’m looking to achieve, and why. These people check with me along the way, and will be there to help put me back on track if I ever get off it.

Sometimes, all you need is one other person to help you and this can make all the difference in the world.

Here is what I did.

My biggest pain was regular exercise.

I can easily write a book 1000 excuses for not working out. :-) Kidding.

But somewhere deep down I know I am not doing it right.
So I fixed a time slot 10:30-11am weekdays. Habit!
That’s right ½ hour for five days. Small Bites!

11 am I have to pick up my 4 year old daughter from school.
The moment she is out of the school bus the first question she asks” Have you done your workout today?”
For first few days I gave her excuses as well.
But then I started feeling guilty. I don’t want to portray myself as a looser in front of her.
And it got fixed!

I am not claiming I have perfected yet but I try to work out every possible day because I don’t want to face her with a down face.

Bingo! You’ve got some powerful weapons to help you smash your goals for the year.

Go forth and conquer!

Now I would love to hear from you.
