Few
years back, some guests came to my place.
My
three year old daughter was playing around.
The
uncle asked, “What’s her name, her school’s name, which standard she is in, her
teacher’s name etc.”
All
were standard questions.
Like
all other kids of her age, she was trained to answer them accurately.
Then
something unexpected happened.
The
Uncle asked, “When you grow up, what
would you like to become?”
Stumped!!!
I
agree, it’s another typical question.
But
for my daughter, someone was asking it first time.
The answer was not already been taught to her like other questions.
Naturally
she was puzzled.
Then
uncle pushed it further, “Your mom is an engineer, she had done her MBA and now
working for Top MNC in the country. You
have your role model at home.”
Just
to simplify the things he answered in
her behalf.
And
off course that was a pat on my back.
Wait…It
is not over yet!!!
I
can feel a lot of colors on my daughter’s face.
First
she gave a strange look.
It clearly
indicates, “What rubbish you are talking about. Whatever is that? That’s not my mom.”
And
then she said something which changed my
life.
She
said, “My mom is creating something
called business for me and when I will grow up I will join her”
Everyone
laughed, as it was a nice little joke.
But
there were only two darn serious people in that room.
My little girl, very honest with her answer and me
with freezed legs, pumping heart and eyes with tears.
Her
answer was not only innocent but It was pure, non-rehearsed, clearly indicating confidence in me and giving assurance that she is there to support me
always in my future ventures.
That
was the one magical moment which changed my life, Forever.
That
time was a struggling startup phase
in my life.
I
was not having much luck in my business.
With
every failure I was thinking to go back and continue my corporate job.
But
her answer cleared off all confusion.
Then,
there were many ups and downs in my life and business.
But
every time I need motivation, I think of this incidence.
And I get charged, every single time.
So here,
I learnt my lesson.
Motivation
doesn’t exist in books, movies, workshops and seminars.
It’s there around you, in your day to day life.
We
closed our eyes and run behind some crap.
Stop
that! Your motivation is waiting for you; somewhere deep down in your heart.
Your
job is just to find it! Once you did, I assure you, the magic will begin.
