When we eat outside food for long period of time the only food which is most comforting is simple, traditional style and home cooked hot meal.Isn't it true? Here in India I eat daal-rice and pickle with some Ghee. I love it. Isn't that happen with drawing as well ? After trying so many styles , experimenting new colours,brushes and mediums for couple of weeks, this easy, simple landscape in circle is my favorite. Don't get me wrong. Trying new thing is good , we learn a lot but they really don't give satisfaction atleast in terms of final output. I am experimenting with styles, colour pallets, brushes and mediums for couple of weeks to find my style. Though it did not help me to find my style, it helped me to find my comfort zone. When nothing works or I can't think of what to draw next or when I am too overwhemed or don't want to experiment, now I know what sort of drawing to draw.  This week I decided to try some different style of illustration and that is ink and limited colour palate. I learnt hatching , cross hatching and stippling in procreate. Tons of leaning.Felling very happy. This might not be one of my favorite drawings but enjoyed it while drawing it. Hope you will love it too. Take Care!

Soft pastel continues... Tried to create some more brushes in procreate. Not really very happy with brushes. I wanted to explore new medium just for change. And I found soft pastels. I always love soft pastel while tradition drawing.They are opaque,easily blendable and more forgiving. But getting that similar effect digitally was a challenge. Currenty my daugher is reading Harry Potter so we keep on disscussing about spells. When I did that feather illustration the first thing which came to my mind was Wingardium Leviosa. And here is the composition. I loved the sft pastel effect and the over all illustration.I hope you will love it too.

I normally don't like to draw any living being...humans,birds,animals etc. But this was an exception. When I saw this Toucan I simply loved it. I just wanted to draw it. I loved the process but really not happy with the final illustration.But that is learning. When you are in the process of learning something new you can't fail but you learn and move on. Today the lockdown got over after almost three months. Everyone was out and that is more scary. But yes, now many things will be available. That is the good part. I learnt so much during this time. Not only drawing but also cooking, baking, cleaning and so much without any domastic help. I gave myself a hair cut, I would have never thought that in my wildest dream. I read about online school in some fiction story few years back and though it will take atleast few more generations to become reality But I was wrong. It is reality now. No cofee shopes,no mall, no restaurants ,no street shoping and no junk food. Imagining such life was a nightmare. It all became possible just like this dream land situation. One biggest lesson was, planning is good but don't overplan. We must learn flexibility and slow down our pace , stay away from gadgets and enjoy the natural beauty more. Today I was not feeling to draw. It is a phase and it will get over soon I told myself. I love pink and blues. I love the sky and northern lights. So I decided to draw this illustration. Well, I did it fast. I want to finish it in one sitting. Honestly I could have done better. But most importantly I did it. I prayed , "God, I am doing my job.I will take care of quantity and you take care of quality" This is my favorite quote by Julia Cameron. I always love light houses. They look old,vintage and some how mysterious. The light pattern codes reminds me the childhood stories of smugglers adventure. Funny isn't it? I love its firmless to stand for ages in dangerorous  coastlines, hazardous  shoals ,  reefs , rocks. I love their ability to guide when there is no light and the destination is not visible. This was in my list for very long time. I was simply not drawing it. Yes , it should have been among the very first illustrations when I started. But some how never drawn it. So today I though , what could be better time than today? And I did it. It tuned out well. I have a habit to keep 10 things uncomplete and start with new. That increses the anxiety. These are the scariest times. Daily when you see the increasing counts of covid19 across the world,it shatters the heart. Now a days I am bit low,scared and not feeling to learn anything new. It is the fight for existance. The only things which can be done are to remain grateful and have faith.
